The Quantum Startup

SaxonQ develops and produces mobile quantum computers. Using NV technology and diamond chips, the system, unlike many others, operates without cooling and is resistant to vibrations. The idea was developed by the founders Marius Grundmann and Jan Meijer, both professors at Leipzig University. In 2021, they founded SaxonQ.

Marius Grundmann

CEO

  • Professor of Semiconductor Physics at Leipzig University
  • 30+ years of experience in nanotechnology and wide-gap semiconductors
  • Manager of large projects and consortia
  • Inventor of patents on transparent contacts and devices

Jan Meijer

CTO

  • Professor of Applied Quantum Systems at Leipzig University
  • 20+ years of experience in fabrication of solid state quantum devices
  • Developer of new methods in ion beam implantation
  • Inventor of patents on quantum sensors and computing

A Team of Enthusiasts for a new Computer Age

In the heart of Leipzig, around 20 physicists and computer scientists are working on the mobile quantum computer. They benefit from their proximity to Leipzig University and its outstanding research. Together, they are bringing their vision to life.
