SaxonQ Wins Saxon Founders Award as Startup of the Year

Startup of the Year: Award for Mobile Quantum Computer from Leipzig

At the futureSAX Innovation Conference on June 25, 2025, in Dresden, SaxonQ was awarded the Saxon Founders’ Award in the category “Startup of the Year.” More than 100 startups had applied – our mobile quantum computer convinced the jury.

Co-founder and CEO Prof. Marius Grundmann: “This award affirms our path: developing a commercially viable quantum computing technology that can fundamentally change how we process data in the coming years. That we were able to build this in Leipzig and Saxony is thanks to the proximity to cutting-edge research, strong public support, and a robust semiconductor ecosystem. It’s a clear signal that tech-driven startups from this region can succeed.”

The Saxon Founders’ Award is presented by the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport and is one of the most prestigious honors for startups in Saxony. It recognizes particularly innovative and growth-oriented ventures.
